COMMUNITY-REPORTED ISSUE

Western Rye horse control checks

A device-by-device diagnosis for turning problems reported during launch week.

Community report — verify in your build

Check the input path

Record whether you use keyboard and mouse, a controller, or both. Disconnect unused controllers, reset only the relevant binding, and test at low speed in an open area.

Compare mounted turning with on-foot camera movement. This helps distinguish a mount behavior issue from global sensitivity, dead-zone, or device drift.

Test one change at a time

Return sensitivity to default, verify that no key is double-bound, and disable controller remapping for one test. Restart after changing device mode.

Avoid editing configuration files until an official location and recovery method are documented.

Report the difference

Describe expected and actual behavior, speed, terrain, device model, input overlay if available, build number, and whether a new save reproduces it.
